God was in the Thunder!

"And it was evening and it was morning the fourth day..."
INSERT LOUD ROLLING THUNDER

and then insert a hushed moment followed by a few giggles

This was the thin space that graced the congregation this morning.  The lector was recounting the Spirit moving over the waters, creation coming into existence, and that god saw that it was good. The story rolled off her tongue in a lulling cadence; the thunder was perfectly placed!
It could not have been planned better if we were able to cause thunder.

Today was a dark day with heavy rain.  Many arriving in the door looking like they had just come out of the shower.  Congregants settled in for a good story from scripture and the sermon story --- a reading of  The Black and White Rainbow, by John Trent.  It was a day where darkness was visited with THUNDER followed by the re-colouring of the rainbow by gifts as described in the children's book.  The story leads to an understanding, where, when one lives out of the heart of the Creator, one's heart colours the world with forgiveness, love, and grace.
